The Group meets in the The Wordsworth Room in the March Library, March, at 2.30 pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month except December when the Library is closed.
The vision for this group is that we explore and discuss a wide range of topics, within the broad scope of the group title. If there are any particular topics members wish to explore then those can be included. There may also be visits to various science/technology related locations.
The regular format, which can be modified as we move forward, is to view a presentation or two with a coffee/tea break midway through the session, and to have a discussion on the topic viewed.
We have acquired a number of DVDs including the BBC lectures by Professor Brian Cox, comprising 'Wonders of the Solar System', and 'Wonders of the Universe' as well as others on the effects of climate change on the survival of many species. In addition to all this we will have occasional presentations by visiting lecturers and by members of the group. Most recently we have been looking at the rocky road to nett zero with the help of a YouTube video or two.
If you are interested in becoming a member of this group then please email the group leader via the link above or just turn up at the start time.
