Gerry Willmott is one of us with a great story to tell - our story of moving to Wales and building a life there.

Gerry is a professional engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He spent the bulk of his career engaged in a variety of R&D projects for the UK Ministry of Defence. The work was interesting technically, very challenging but also stressful. So at 50 he and his wife were given Voluntary Redundancy.

They planned to move away from Hampshire where they had spent twenty years and brought up their two sons and seek pastures new. Many happy holidays and numerous weekends mountain bike racing had developed in them a love for the hills of Wales. The destination was inevitable and so it was that, eventually, they managed to move to Radnorshire in Mid Wales. The talk tells the story.
